Liga MB top team - San Salvador (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Chalchuapa (1-15) 61-30. San Salvador held Chalchuapa to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 41-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Luis Valle (190-1997) stepped up and scored 12 points for the winners and power forward Brayan Garcia (194-1998) chipped in 5 points and 13 rebounds. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach Rainel Panfet felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Gorg Alhag (190-1997, college: Mayville St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Eleazar Herrera (195-1995) scored 4 points and 6 rebounds. San Salvador have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record, which they share with Santa Tecla. Chalchuapa lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. San Salvador is looking forward to face Metapan (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Chalchuapa will play against Fantasmas (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
