Top ranked Piratas (11-4) recorded its fourth loss in Quebradillas on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Gigantes (9-6) 87-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Piratas. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. International point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU) fired 25 points and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Julian Torres (206-1997, college: LSUA) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Gigantes' coach Carlos Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
