An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santa Tecla. Second ranked Santa Tecla faced 4th ranked Brujos. Host Santa Tecla (15-1) smashed guests from Izalco (8-8) 105-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Brujos. Santa Tecla dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Brujos' 28. They outrebounded Brujos 59-37 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Tecla players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Brujos' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds. Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (207-1990, college: Millersville) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Dominican swingman Jonatan Bello (195-2001) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Brujos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with San Salvador. Brujos at the other side keep the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Quezaltepeque. Santa Tecla will play against Cojute (#3) in Cojutepeque in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Brujos will have a break next round.
