There was a minor upset in Humacao where 4th placed Indios (6-9) were defeated by sixth ranked Grises (6-11) 103-92 on Thursday. Grises made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Travis Trice II (183-1993, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 8 assists. Dominican forward LJ Figueroa (198-1998, college: Oregon) helped adding 19 points and 10 rebounds. Grises' coach Wilhelmus Caanen used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American center Alec Brown (216-1992, college: Green Bay) responded with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Chaundee Brown Jr (196-1998, college: Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Grises maintains sixth place with 6-11 record. Indios lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Grises will meet at home league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will play against Leones (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
