Regular Season Round 26: Puerto Montt - Las Animas 88-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Las Animas (15-10) were defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Puerto Montt (9-17) 88-82 on Friday. Puerto Montt looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Reggie Baker (193-1993, college: BCU) scored 28 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Josh Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) chipped in 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Spanish Alejandro Vergara (196-1995) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Puerto Montt and five Las Animas players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Las Animas keep the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Valdivia. Puerto Montt will meet at home higher ranked Espanol O. (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Las Animas will play against Puerto Varas and hope to secure a win.
