Regular Season Round 26: Castro - Catolica 91-65
Date: April 28, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Catolica (8-19) was outplayed on the road by eighth ranked Castro (13-12) 91-65 on Friday. Castro made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Catolica only scored six points from the stripe. Ecuadorian center Bryan Carabali (212-1999) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Venezuelan Luis Merida (190) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Castro players scored in double figures. American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and forward Rodrigo Rojas (-1997) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Castro went down to ninth position due to points difference. Catolica lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
