La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Obras' 26. Obras was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Marcos Saglietti (188-1986) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five La Union players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) came up with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Obras in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
