The game between Top Four teams took place in Carolina. Second ranked host Gigantes (11-6) defeated 4th placed Cariduros (8-11) 108-103. Strangely Cariduros outrebounded Gigantes 49-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) nailed 23 points and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville) accounted for 23 points. Gigantes' coach Carlos Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international point guard Alexander Abreu (179-1991, college: UWG) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) added 14 points and 18 rebounds respectively for Cariduros in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Gigantes have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-6 record having just one point less than leader Quebradillas. Cariduros lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. Gigantes will play against Mets (#3) in Guaynabo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cariduros will play at home against Grises and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
