Regular Season Round 22: Guaynabo - Carolina 95-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Guaynabo between second ranked Gigantes (11-7) and fifth ranked Mets (9-9) on Thursday night. Gigantes were defeated by Mets on the road 95-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gigantes. Mets dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 28. They outrebounded Gigantes 51-25 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American power forward DeMarcus Cousins (211-1990, college: Kentucky) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Mets players scored in double figures. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward JJ Rosario (206-1999, college: A&M-Commerce) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Gigantes' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Gigantes at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. Mets are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Gigantes in Carolina in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will have a break next round.
