Regular Season Round 23: Mayaguez - Arecibo 103-93

The game between third ranked Capitanes (10-9) and fourth ranked Indios (9-10) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Capitanes were defeated by Indios in Mayaguez 93-103. Strangely Capitanes outrebounded Indios 43-25 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Johned Walker (178-2003) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. American guard Chaundee Brown Jr (196-1998, college: Michigan) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Capitanes. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios maintains fourth place with 9-10 record, which they share with Guaynabo. Capitanes lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Indios is looking forward to face league's second-placed Atleticos in San German in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitanes will have a break next round.
