Sao Paulo made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Pinheiros turnovers. Strangely Pinheiros outrebounded Sao Paulo 47-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) who scored that evening 9 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists and the former international forward Marquinhos Vieira (207-1984) supported him with 20 points. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by the former international center Dikembe Andre (206-1999) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. Guard Matheus Eugeniusz (193-2000) added 18 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.
