Gimnasia made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Gimnasia outrebounded Obras 43-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Sebastian Orresta (188-1993) notched 21 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and the former international Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) supported him with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Even 13 points and 6 assists by the former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) did not help to save the game for Obras. Peruvian point guard Juan Pablo Venegas (183-2000) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Obras' coach Gregorio Martinez tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
