Top ranked Vaqueros (14-6) recorded its sixth loss in Santurce on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Cangrejeros (12-10) 101-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vaqueros. Cangrejeros made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American forward Kenneth Faried (203-1989, college: Morehead St.) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import point guard David Stockton (180-1991, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 18 assists. American forward Braxton Key (203-1997, college: Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Ismael Romero (205-1991) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Cangrejeros and five Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Cangrejeros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-10 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Quebradillas. Defending champion Vaqueros still keep top position with six games lost. Cangrejeros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vaqueros will play at home against Indios and are hoping to win this game.
