An exciting game was played in La Romana. Caneros faced Leones. Host Caneros defeated guests from Santo Domingo 104-98. Caneros made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Cornelius Hudson (200-1993, college: Wake Forest) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Brayan Martinez (203-1991) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Caneros players scored in double figures. Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) replied with 25 points and 6 assists and American Nick Faust (198-1993, college: LBSU) added 17 points in the effort for Leones. Leones' coach Julio Duquela rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caneros will play against Soles in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play on the road against Marineros in Puerto Plata and hope to get back on the winning track.
