Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#2) and Libertad A. (#4). Olimpia K. (9-2) won against visiting Libertad A. (6-5) 84-78. Olimpia K. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Gabriel Peralta (203-1995) helped adding 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Diego Bareiro (195-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and the former international Rodney Mercado (191-1999) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Libertad A. players scored in double figures. Olimpia K. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader San Jose. Loser Libertad A. keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Colonias G.. Olimpia K.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Sol de America.
