Regular Season Round 29: Carolina - Humacao 82-90

The game between third ranked Gigantes (13-10) and sixth ranked Grises (8-16) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Gigantes were defeated by Grises in a tough game in Carolina 82-90. Grises shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman James Ennis (201-1990, college: LBSU) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. International center George Conditt IV (208-2000, college: Iowa St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks and international point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU, agency: Shark Sports Management) added 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grises maintains sixth place with 8-16 record, which they share with Ponce. Gigantes at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. Grises is looking forward to face league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gigantes will play on the road against Cariduros in Fajardo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
