Regular Season Round 6: Municipal C. - Truenos 74-54

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked Truenos (2-3) and sixth ranked Municipal C. (2-3) on Saturday night. Truenos were crushed by Municipal C. on the road 74-54. Municipal C. held Truenos to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Truenos 52-41 including a 43-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Matias Villagran (199-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Venezuelan forward Israel Blanco (196-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nick Morales (187-1985) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Martin Morales (-2002) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Municipal C. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Truenos. Municipal C. is looking forward to face league's second-placed Colo Colo in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Truenos will play at home against Tomas L. and are hoping to win this game.
