Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Rayos de Hermosillo's 42. They outrebounded Rayos de Hermosillo 43-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jimmy Whitt (190-1997, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) who added 23 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and forward Aaron Wheeler (206-1998, college: St.John's) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
