An interesting game for Capitanes (16-12) which played road game in Carolina against their close opponent Gigantes (15-12). Third ranked Capitanes managed to get a 6-point victory 91-85. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) supported him with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. International point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU, agency: Shark Sports Management) added 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaynabo. Loser Gigantes keep the third position with 12 games lost. Capitanes will meet at home Cariduros (#6) in the next round. Gigantes will play against Cariduros in Fajardo and hope to secure a win.
