The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Mets' (16-12) home victory over 4th ranked Cangrejeros (15-14) in Guaynabo 100-93 on Friday. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American power forward DeMarcus Cousins (211-1990, college: Kentucky) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and Australian swingman Mitch Creek (196-1992) supported him with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Five Mets players scored in double figures. Even 30 points and 7 assists by American point guard David Stockton (180-1991, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Cangrejeros. The former international forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) added 20 points for the guests. Mets have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Arecibo. Loser Cangrejeros keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Mets will meet league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cangrejeros will play against Grises and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
