Regular Season Round 33: Manati - Quebradillas 94-95

Fifth-ranked Osos (10-19) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Piratas (19-8) in Manati. The visitors from Quebradillas managed to secure only one-point victory 95-94. However their fans expected much easier game. American center Hassan Whiteside (213-1989, college: Marshall) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) chipped in 32 points and 6 assists. Piratas' coach Rafael Cruz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Christopher Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Piratas maintains first place with 19-8 record. Osos at the other side keep the fifth position with 19 games lost. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osos will play on the road against Leones (#6) in Juana Diaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
