LNB top team - Reales (8-2) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Metros (1-11) in La Vega 102-96. Reales made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Raphiael Putney (207-1990, college: UMass) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized American forward Antonio Pena (204-1986, college: Villanova) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Emmitt Williams (198-1998, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for Metros. Jean-Karlo Iciano (189-1997, college: Dyersburg St.) added 27 points. Five Reales and four Metros players scored in double figures. Metros' coach Nestor Diaz tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Reales maintains first position with 8-2 record. Metros lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Reales will meet at home Indios (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Metros will play against the league's second-placed Leones (#2) in Santo Domingo and hope to win that game.
