Regular Season Round 36: Manati - Arecibo 110-93

The most important game in the last round took place in Manati between third ranked Capitanes (17-14) and sixth ranked Osos (11-20) on Saturday night. Capitanes were defeated by Osos on the road 93-110. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Osos shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Capitanes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Denis Clemente (183-1986, college: Kansas St.) replied with 26 points and Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Capitanes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osos maintains sixth position with 11-20 record. Capitanes at the other side dropped to the second place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Guaynabo. Osos are looking forward to face league's leader Piratas in Quebradillas in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Capitanes will have a break next round.
