Fifth-ranked Cariduros (13-20) gave a tough game to second ranked Atleticos (19-12) in Fajardo. The visitors from San German managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cariduros. Atleticos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) nailed 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Timajh Parker-rivera came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Eric Griffin (203-1990, college: Campbell) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Cariduros in the defeat. Five Atleticos and four Cariduros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Atleticos maintains second place with 19-12 record having just three points less than leader Quebradillas. Cariduros at the other side keep the fifth position with 20 games lost. Atleticos will play against Gigantes (#3) in Carolina in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cariduros will have a break next round.
