Regular Season Round 40: Arecibo - Quebradillas 104-110

Rather predictable result when first ranked Piratas (23-11) won against 3rd ranked Capitanes (17-17) in Arecibo 110-104 on Monday. Piratas made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Brandon Knight (190-1991, college: Kentucky) who scored that evening 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 27 points and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) by naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Capitanes. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) added 21 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Piratas and five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas maintains first position with 23-11 record. Capitanes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Carolina. Piratas will meet at home league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitanes will play against Cangrejeros in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
