Regular Season Round 10: Leones - Titanes 80-86

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Leones (9-5) against sixth ranked Titanes (8-8) on Sunday night. Host Leones were defeated by Titanes in a tough game in Santo Domingo 80-86. Titanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dimas Carrasco replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Kelvin Perez added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Leones. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Titanes moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Leones keep the second position with five games lost. Titanes will play against higher ranked Indios (#4) in San Francisco in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santo Domingo to the arena Soles.
