Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Los Leones made 8 blocks. American power forward Markus Kennedy (206-1991, college: SMU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. The former international forward Darrol Jones (193-1994) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Venezuelan Carlos Milano (198-1985) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Concepcion. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Concepcion's coach Cipriano Nunez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
