An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santo Domingo. First ranked Leones faced second-best Caneros. Host Leones (13-8) defeated guests from La Romana (12-9) 79-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Caneros. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a great evening for forward Jean Quezada who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Leandro Cabrera (200-1988) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Leones' coach Julio Duquela used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) scored 17 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Leones. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-8 record, which they share with Indios and Reales.
