Second Stage Round 3: Yale - D.Sporting 67-71

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: D.Sporting (#4) and Yale (#3). Yale was defeated at home 67-71 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. D.Sporting forced 29 Yale turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Joaquina Gregorio (168-2001) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Pierina Rossi (171-2004) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five D.Sporting players scored in double figures. D.Sporting's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Luciana Chagas (174-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. D.Sporting will play against Aguada at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yale's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena 25 de Agosto.
