An interesting game was also a 42-point tough home defeat of Indigenas in a game in Matagalpa versus Leones 107-65. Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Indigenas' 42. Leones forced 28 Indigenas turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including 31 on the offensive glass. American guard Augustus Stone (193-1997, college: St.Thomas, FL) notched 31 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) did not help to save the game for Indigenas. Power forward Elgin Mejia (-2001) added 8 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Indigenas will play against UNI Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
