BSNF top team - Atenienses (5-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Pollitas (2-2) in Manati 80-66. Atenienses players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-1988, college: Arizona St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) supported her with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Atenienses players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) did not help to save the game for Pollitas. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-1990, college: Portland) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Pollitas' coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Atenienses have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Pollitas at the other side keep the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Santurce. Atenienses will play against Cangrejeras (#6) in Santurce in the next round where they are favorite. Pollitas will play on the road against the league's second-placed Moca and hope to get back on the winning track.
