Regular Season Round 11: Jaguares - Leones 79-85

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Managua: Leones (#2) and Jaguares (#7). Jaguares were defeated at home 79-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Augustus Stone (193-1997, college: St.Thomas, FL) contributed with 25 points for the winners. American Joel Kindred (193-1991, college: St.Augustine) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Puerto Rican power forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (209-1990, college: UNLV) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Jaguares. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones (7-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Caribbean Coast and Leon. Jaguares lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. Leones' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Managua to the arena Caribbean Coast.
