Liga Superior top team - Panteras (7-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Sivar (3-4) 74-37. Panteras held Sivar to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sivar 44-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. Panteras players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sivar's players. It was a quality performance for guard Heimy Lopez (167-2004) who led the winners and scored 25 points. Center Gladis Maravilla (185-1985) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Claudia Morales (166-2001) came up with 12 points and 4 assists and point guard Fatima Barrera (163-2002) added 5 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Sivar in the defeat. Panteras have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-1 record. Sivar at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Panteras will play against Santa Emilia (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sivar will have a break next round.
