Liga Mayor top team - San Salvador (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Salvadorenas 2 (2-5) 76-54. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Salvadorenas 2's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Silvia Vega (176-2003) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Salvadorenas 2 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for San Salvador. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Salvadorenas 2 lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with San Miguel. San Salvador will meet at home bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Salvadorenas 2 will play against San Miguel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
