There was no surprise when 7th ranked Freseras (3-15) were outleveled by first ranked Libertadores (12-6) in Irapuato 115-76 on Monday. Libertadores shot 65.2 percent from the field. Libertadores outrebounded Freseras 33-18 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Libertadores looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated also this game. Guard Branden Frazier (191-1992, college: Fordham) nailed 19 points and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Bennie Boatwright (208-1996, college: USC) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Libertadores players scored in double figures. Guard Markel Crawford (196-1994, college: Ole Miss) came up with 14 points and guard Antwon Lillard (198-1995, college: BGSU) added 9 points respectively for Freseras in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Libertadores. They maintain first place with 12-6 record, which they share with Astros. Loser Freseras keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Libertadores will meet at home league's second-placed Panteras in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Freseras will play against the league's second-placed Abejas (#2) in Guanajuato and hope to secure a win.
