Regular Season Round 2: Bauru - Paulistano 75-71

There was no surprise when Paulistano was defeated on the road by Paschoalotto/Bauru 75-71 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Paulistano turnovers. Strangely Paulistano outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 37-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Alex Garcia (190-1980, agency: Interperformances) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-1997) chipped in 10 points during the contest. Naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (192-1993, college: Dartmouth) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Paulistano's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet UNIFACISA in the next round where they are favorite. Paulistano will play against Fortaleza and hope to win that game.
