Very expected game in Managua where 10th ranked Tigres (2-18) were defeated by sixth ranked Jaguares (9-11) 98-91 on Friday. Jaguares made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Austin Wrighten (192-1996, college: Lynchburg, agency: AG Sports Solutions) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import Justin Jackson (203-1990, college: Cincinnati, agency: AG Sports Solutions) chipped in 27 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Wrighten is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Jaguares players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican Antonio Gordon (206-2001, college: Oklah.Christian) who recorded 46 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Cuban Emmanuel Calderon (198-1998) added 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Tigres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jaguares maintains sixth position with 9-11 record. Tigres lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Jaguares' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Managua Leones.
