Regular Season Round 1: Mambas - Capitanes 94-92

The most important game of round 1 took place in Santiago where Mambas edged Capitanes 94-92 on Friday night. Strangely Capitanes outrebounded Mambas 41-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. Victor Torres (189-1995) stepped up and scored 32 points for the winners and Daniel Vasquez chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Francisco Germosen responded with 19 points and 4 assists and Adris Rodriguez produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Mambas and five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitanes will play next round against strong CPN trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago - CPN. Mambas will try to continue on its current victory against Capitanes. It will be extra interesting game as Capitanes is their local rival from Santiago.
