Important game to mention about took place in Cordoba. First rankedGimnasia CR (9-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Instituto (6-1) 79-78 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Instituto. Gimnasia made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2002) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) chipped in 13 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Ignacio Beltramino (179) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Kadir Pomare produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gimnasia maintains first place with 9-1 record. Instituto at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. Gimnasia CR will play against Independ.O. (#8) in Olivia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Instituto will play at home against La Union (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
