Regular Season Round 12: Catolica - Puente Alto 72-71

The most exciting game of round 12 in the CUP took place in Santiago. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengersPuente Alto (6-7) to fifth ranked Catolica (5-8) 72-71 on Sunday evening. Catolica made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Rodrigo Rojas (-1997) who scored 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Juan Aguayo (-2003) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Catolica players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Pablo Coro (190, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Puente Alto's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Catolica maintains fifth position with 5-8 record. Puente Alto lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost.
