Regular Season Round 17: Platense - Penarol 101-98

There was no surprise in Florida where 16th ranked Penarol (5-11) was edged by eleventh ranked Platense (8-9) 101-98 on Thursday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Platense outrebounded Penarol 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Santino Mazzucchelli stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and swingman Mariano Goicoechea (195-2004) chipped in 24 points. Five Platense players scored in double figures. Forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) responded with 30 points and 7 rebounds and guard Facundo Cabrera (185-2001) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Platense moved-up to tenth place. Penarol lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Regatas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
