NBB top team -Minas (20-3) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat seventeenth ranked Cerrado (5-15) in Brasilia 84-71 . Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a quality performance for Argentinian guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Rafael Mineiro (208-1988) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Daviyon Draper (201-1994, college: FIU) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Guilherme Santos (189-1997) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cerrado in the defeat. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Minas . They maintain first place with 20-3 record. Cerrado lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 15 games lost.
