Everything went according to plan when third rankedMetapan (7-2) beat at home 8th ranked A.Lobos (2-7) 78-67 on Tuesday. Metapan made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Metapan outrebounded A.Lobos 44-33 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman Eddie Ishman (197-1986, college: Miles) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuelan-Colombian center Michael Hinestroza (210-1990, college: UALR) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and Guatemalan point guard David Vasquez (-1992, college: Umpqua CC) added 26 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metapan have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Santa Ana and Salvadorenos. A.Lobos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Brujos and Fantasmas.
