The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-rankedCapitanes (10-2) in Arecibo on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Piratas (6-9) 104-95 . It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Capitanes. Quebradillas made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Arecibo only scored twelve points from the stripe. Quebradillas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. DR Congolese point guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-1996) had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Gian Clavell (193-1993, college: Colorado St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. The former international Alfonso Plummer (185-1997, college: Illinois) responded with 18 points and 9 assists and American point guard David Stockton (180-1991, college: Gonzaga) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Four Quebradillas and five Arecibo players scored in double figures. Quebradillas moved-up to third place. Arecibo at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
