We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in San German where 5th rankedLeones (10-16) were defeated by sixth ranked Atleticos (11-16) 87-78 on Friday. San German made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ponce 's players. The best player for the winners was American Alize Johnson (206-1996, college: Missouri St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import point guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Atleticos' coach Eddie Casiano used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The former international Jordan Murphy (200-1997, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Alex Morales (198-1997, college: Wagner) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. San German moved-up to fifth place. Ponce lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 16 games lost.
