Very important is a road loss of third rankedTitanes (3-3) against fourth ranked Marineros (4-3) on Friday night. Visiting Titanes were defeated by Marineros in Puerto Plata 89-72 . Marineros players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Swingman Braynt De La Cruz (198-2002, agency: BMS Sport Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Rakeem Christmas (206-1991, college: Syracuse) contributed with 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Randy Bautista (, college: ASA Manhattan CC) answered with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard KJ Jackson (187-1998, college: UMBC) added 18 points in the effort for Titanes. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marineros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Titanes at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Caneros.
