Regular Season Round 10: Santiagueno - Metapan 60-96

Liga Mayor top team -Metapan (10-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Santiagueno (2-8) in Usultan 96-60 . Metapan dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Santiagueno 's 26. They outrebounded Santiagueno 53-38 including a 44-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Metapan players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American point guard Britney Jones (174-1987, college: UAB) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) supported her with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Metapan's coach Reynaldo Corrales felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds by Mexican Gema Roa did not help to save the game for Santiagueno . Guatemalan point guard Astrid Garcia (165-1995) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Five Metapan and four Santiagueno players scored in double figures. Metapan have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Santiagueno lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost.
