There was no surprise when 9th rankedAhuachapan (1-10) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Salvadorenas 2 (7-5) 112-79 on Friday. Salvadorenas 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Ahuachapan 's 46. Salvadorenas 2 forced 28 Ahuachapan turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Salvadorenas 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Ahuachapan 's players. It was a great evening for Cuban forward Eilen Gilbert (183-1998) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Fatima Aviles (161-1999) helped adding 24 points and 7 assists. Four Salvadorenas 2 players scored in double figures. Coach Ray Santana's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) responded with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Cuban guard Elianis Armenteros (175-2000) scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Salvadorenas 2 moved-up to third place. Loser Ahuachapan stay at the bottom position with ten games lost.
