The game had a very big importance for second-rankedMetapan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Metapan smashed 4th ranked Salvadorenas 2 at home 79-51 . Metapan forced 19 Salvadorenas 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. American point guard Britney Jones (174-1987, college: UAB) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Metapan's coach Reynaldo Corrales felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban forward Eilen Gilbert (183-1998) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and center Silvia Vega (176-2003) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Salvadorenas 2. Metapan have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Salvadorenas 2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost.
