Very important is a road loss of third rankedAtenienses (5-3) against seventh ranked Lares (3-5) on Wednesday night. Visiting Atenienses were defeated by Lares in a tough game in Lares 70-78 . American forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Mariah Perez (191-2000, college: Dayton) chipped in 18 points and 15 rebounds. Amundsen is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Lares players scored in double figures. Lares' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was international point guard Kaela Hilaire (157-1998, college: Stony Brook) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward India Pagan (185-1999, college: Stony Brook) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lares moved-up to sixth place. Manati at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Lares will play against San German (#8) on the road in the next round. Manati will play against Isabela (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
